I can't remember the setting exactly as I barely know how to even turn on the camera. I think it was 1/60 sec, iso 200 at F20
John, Is what lens did you use there?

I have finally loaded up the Canon Eos utility software. It contains a live view from your laptop to control the camera remotely. You can zoom in on your PC and focus remotely before taking any shots. The camera can be focused via the program. Full camera settings and bulb control for exposures via a laptop. I am pretty impressed with this camera so far.

Hi John. The 450D is well known for having a really low noise output on high ISO numbers and long exposure times as your picture shows. I'm sure you'll get some fantastic images. Best of luck with it.

Hi John,
Well done on your new purchase. I'm look forward to seeing your progress over the coming months. Well done on the image one other option you have with a camera like that is star trails, if you piggyback the camera on the scope you can get lovely shots of the milky way and constilations.
Carl.
