NGC 1528 - Open Cluster in Perseus was created by ayiomamitis
Dear friends ... and Dierdre,
Aside from the stunning double cluster in Perseus, we have a large number of other impressive open clusters in this rich constellation.
A few days ago I had a sucker hole with good transparency but questionable seeing and where I pursued NGC 1528, one such rich open cluster in Perseus. This was my fourth attempt at NGC 1528 and it is still not quite where I would like it to be but certainly better than the three earlier efforts.
I have checked around the internet for other results involving NGC 1528 and only to find a very small number of efforts.
For my latest effort based on two hours total exposure time using luminance layering, I kindly direct you to www.perseus.gr/Astro-DSO-NGC-1528.htm and which taken with an AP160 and ST-2000XM. My prize camera (ST-10XME) is now back from some service work and will be used for
another crack at this bright and rich open cluster (weather permitting).
Clear skies!
Anthony.

Anthony, that is a lovely shot of this rich cluster, I have pobserved quite a few times mainly with binoculars, it's a pity that the double cluster steals all the limelight

There is always at least one object that keeps you asking for more mate. I noted the 30 min exposures and I know you like to get 1 hour for each layer so I take it the weather window was fairly brief. Anto I find your star cluster images more hypnotic than many neb or galaxy images.

Beautiful image, you declare yourself not quite happy with the end result, for many photographers an image of that quality would get a place on their wall. I can't wait to see an image of NGC 1528 that you are happy with.
Couldn't agree more.

Thanks everyone!
The poor seeing made a mess of my spikes and it will be addressed at the first opportunity.
