Hi Anthony,
What a super image, the colour and density is stunning,
not a criticism but would you not try and darken the background a bit more.?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the kind words!

With respect to the background you mention, it is something I looked into but the histogram suggests I will be clipping data.

Either way, this is my third attempt at this beautiful cluster and it is still not right. The latest effort is the best result so far but there is still ground to cover so as to get right. I am hoping (very much!) that I will be able to try again while Perseus is seasonal.

Anthony.

Wonderful image Anthony! The cluster has a wonderful 3 dimensional quality to it. If I could ever produce an image of that quality I'd be over the Moon!

P.s - You have an equipment list to die for! :)

Wow! What a lovely shot of a lovely cluster. One of my favourites. I have no idea how you could be unhappy with this Anthony. Looks technically (and visually) perfect to me in every regard. Even the background shows as well adjusted (at least on my work screen).

Congrats on a super image. In fact congrats on getting any work done at all. Every time I look at the sat pics for Greece lately there always seems to be 100% cloud either east or west of the mountains depending on the prevailing winds.

Regards and Clear Skies,

Dave.

Hi Dave,

The poor seeing did degrade the final result. Let's wait for around nine months and I will have another kick at it and certainly with bette seeing.

Your observation is quite on the money. The past two months have been hell with clouds and rains. I suspect I had no more than four to five total hours of clear skies.

No choice but to be patient for March when things should be back to normal.

Anthony.
