Collaborative Roestte Nebula By Carl & Steve was created by carlobeirnes
NGC 2246 The rosette Nebula in the Constellation Monoceros,by Carl and Steve.A truly collaborative effort from Irish astronomers located 120 miles apart!
The Luminosity data was collected by Carl O'Beirnes, Ballbriggan, Co Dublin, Ireland, on the 8th & 9th of February 2009 just a few degrees away from a full Moon. Consisting of 52 x 5 min exposures, 24 x 5min @ -20 deg,Darks. William Optics FLT-110 Triplet APO refractor Atik 4000 cdd camera and 6nm Hydrogen Alpha Filter. Guided with a Celestron 80ED And Sac 4.2 CCD camera with PhD guiding software On a CGE mount. Processed in Images Plus V3.5 and Photoshop CS2.
The Colour data was captured by Stephen Roche, Cherrymount, Waterford, Ireland. Taken from Cherrymount, Waterford, Ireland. 28th Feb, 2009. Modded Canon 350D, William Optics Megrez 90 Doublet, with a Baader UHC-S Filter, unguided and piggybacked on a Celestron CGE 11 inch SCT. A stack of 60 x 1 minute exposures at ISO1600. Darks,Bias and Flats applied. Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker, post processed in Photoshop CS2.
Both images combined in Photoshop CS2.
