Maybe I could spend 300 more but it won't be enough anyway I suppose. I heard Pentax refractor is good, but doesn't it need any more accessories, flattener for example?
Takahashi refractor is my dream but unreachable for now, so it has to wait.
Dariusz - you can pick up a second hand triplet for $800 or less - of course, they are typically the smaller apertures... (e.g. TMB SS80 Triplet $790.00).
Given the market out there at the moment, you might be pleasantly surprised. There are "fire sales" every now and then where someone just packs the whole hobby in. I'd recommend keeping an eye on the dealers and also the pre-owned market. If you're going to buy second-hand, go for the quality scopes - they will have been well looked after.
