Yep, thousand oaks will just show the sunspot group - but I did take a look in white light yesterday and there's a nice bit of detail in there.
I'm just using my old Coronado PST. It's a black and white toucam into the nosepiece with a 2.5x powermate in between (or sometimes 5x). I can't do prime focus because of the design of the PST which vastly limits backfocus, especially on the newer versions of that scope. The mount was a CG5GT.
1 video exposed for the disc and 1 exposed for the prominence and then merged with photoshop or gimp.
Now if only someone on the boards would kindly donate a Lunt LS100 double-stack filter we can get some super images :laugh:
