I bought mine direct from OPT last year. No issues with duty or customs.
The firewire will need a seperate power supply if you don't have a full 6 pin firewire connector. The USB version is powered by the laptop and also makes a good guide camera.

Thats interesting indeed,
I had a look at their page
www.theimagingsource.com/en_US/products/cameras/usb-ccd-color/
and think that 30fps would be a minimum, I'm wondering is there any gain going form 30 to 60 fps, the larger frame of the DFK 31AU03 is enticing as I sometimes find the 640x480 frame size of the toucam just that bit small, I don't think you need the features of the other DFK31 cameras. I'd go for the lazier option of a colour camera, I'm not getting involved in filter wheels.

Is there any alternative to optcorp.com?
Not that they are expensive but I might not get away with duty etc..
One site links me to astronomy.ie as Irish dealers but they are very expensive and I could not even see the cameras on their site in any case.

surely there is somewhere in mainland europe that do these cameras ?
this way you avoid over inflated prices and customs.

theimagingsource.com sent me a quote and the euro prices on their site are exclusive of VAT.
The DFK 21AU04 was €290 before VAT.
Quote doesn't state delivery charges either.
Optcorp is $350 for DFK 21AU04S and $390 with delivery to Ireland - about €282
I will look about a bit more but unless I am missing something, Optcorp.com is the best option.
