So thats the 1/3rd inch ccd monochrome firewire camera.
Can I ask why did you select firewire or usb, is there a differance in end image quality between them ?
Looking at you image, you could have happily used a barlow in there.
I've been considering the colour usb version of this camera, how do you find using a colour filter wheel, and which one did you get for the camera, manual/electronic ?
I'm assuming your running it at 30 fps ?

Great shot Steve.
The detail is very crisp.
Those DMK cameras are the biz alright.
On this monitor the edges of the planet are a tad dark...
just a minor niggle.
It may be the screen here though.

Isn't it great,
Jupiter is back with a 'Bang' :woohoo:
I'm looking forward to seeing more and more images
of it over the next few weeks as the mark dissapates..

Hi Steve,

Great to see other peoples images of this great planet. The detail in your image is very good.

Thanks for the encouragement folks, much appreciated.

Twas, a mad dash last friday night to set up, as the work now has me exiled in the UK for the next few weeks, :((at least I negotiated a flight home last Friday, for the weekend) .. a case of capture it now, or wait until next year.

I hope to try again this season though.

Dave, I have the Firewire version, and I ran the rgb frames at 15 FPS. I was surprised by the seeing, twas rather good. I would have loved to try the barlow. I use a manual filter wheel, does the job for me. Its just a case of remembering the correct direction to turn it and of where the filters start. What I did was mark each position with a bit of tippex and colour it in with marker to represent the coloured filter at each stop.
