Yea Dave, as you saw for yourself, the Daystar filter is savage. The view through the eyepiece reveals as much detail as what these images show. However, with the focal lengths involved, it needs good seeing which is best in morning time.

Michael - that's a really neat image - it's an amazing structure!
Do you have any estimation of its size?
