I forgot to mention another piece of software that you might find useful for GuideDog. There is an open source initiative called ASCOM that creates software drivers for interfacing software and various computer controlled scopes.

If needs be then you can also autoguide your Meade scope via GuideDog through ASCOM drivers as well as manual guiding.
ASCOM also has drivers for auto-focusers and dome control software.
