These are beautiful images. The nebulae come out a lot better in the second but I also like the contrast in colours between the nebulae and the area around Glenah in the first.

Great capture. Did you use a light pollution filter, or do you need one where you are?

Hi Damien,

Thanks for your kind words on my image. Unfortunatly even though i am in Donegal in the East of the county the light pollution is getting worse all the time so i do use a filter. I used the CLS clip filter. It works well for me but others find that the green tinge it leaves can be hard to deal with but it hasn't bothered me yet anyway.

All the best,

Brendan

Hi Brendan,

That CLS clip filter is on my shopping list next time I have a few quid to spare, the CCD version. I have the 2" non CCD version. I've found using a custom white balance on my 40D goes a long way to negating the green tint. For a variety of reasons I haven't been imaging in a while but if memory serves it worked pretty well.

Hi Damien, yeah i usually set the white balance in photoshop by shooting a white card in sunlight. Works well for me.

Carl, thanks a million for your kind words. I have alot to learn with the processing, I really need to keep reading and practicing. I am dying to get back out imaging. The weather has been terrible up her. A friend and I reckon we have only had 3-4 clear nights since the start of June and at least two of those were Moonlit.

Thanks again everyone for taking the time to look and comment on my image and website.

Clear skies!
