That's a pretty decent image Neil for only a second attempt!
Keep it up!

Great image Neil. We were out with the sea scouts that night. Had a nice view through very small scopes but I had no idea something like this was possible!

Hi Guys,
Thanks to all for your comments and advice.
I managed to get outside and capture Jupiter once again since, and this time was a more rushed affair as cloud cover was closing in fast.
I used the same setup as before, but only managed to capture about 500 Frames at 13 fps. For Some reason the SPC900NC wont let me capture at a higher frame rate than this even though I set the Frame Rate to 30 fps in WXAstroCapture. (I think it has something to do with USB 1.0 Limitations?!)
The image resolution was not as good as my last attempt but I was reasonably pleased because I managed to snap the transit of Io complete with its shadow!

Thanks again,
Neil

Thats actually an impressive image for just 500 frames of an AVI!
I would advise against 30fps with the SPC.
The image will become grainy.
20 -25Max.
Not sure why you cant increase it more than 13fps.
Download K3CCD tools (free one)
it's designed to work with the SPC900
and gives you very good control over the cam settings.

That looks pretty good Neil.
Couple of small suggestions:
1. Take more frames - try going for 2,000.
2. Easy on the sharpening & processing - it's starting to showm a little in the blending of colours in the image. Taking more frames will help with this.
Regards,
Michael.
