My first Jupiter image from the 2011 Season. was created by carlobeirnes
Hi all,
With a great run in the weather I was able to get around 600 Megabytes of Jupiter AVI’s I’ll be processing till I’m 102 years old :>)). It’s been a long time since I turned the telescope onto a planet for imaging some rust has set in.
Here is my results www.webtreatz.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-115
Please click on the image to enlarge
The image was taken between the 4th and 5th of November 2011 using a C14 and lumenera SKYnyx 2.0 mono camera.
3 images where taken in RGB @85FPS for 50SEC on each channel around 5000 frames per RGB images where captured using Lucam recorder and was processed in registax V4 and Photoshop CS3.
I’ve also made a pseudo luminance by using 50% from the red channel and 50% from the Green in Photoshop using the channel mixer.
Comments are always welcome.
Clear Skies,
Carl O’Beirnes.

Carl
What is the recommended maximum duration of capture?
Is it 50 seconds duration to complete the capture of red, green, and blue, or is it 50 seconds per channel (i.e. 150 seconds imaging before Jupiter rotation causes smear)?
If it's the latter then I recently gave some bum advice to another poster.

Great to see you shootin the planets again Carl.
My first reaction to the image was it
was slightly out of focus but after reading
Marks post maybe its rotation smear?
What do you think?

Great images Carl. Its thanks to your images that I have taken up trying to capture the planets and really enjoying it so far, may have to buy another computer though.
