Thanks, Tony, for these wonderful images. I was observing Mars on Sunday night too at about 10pm. At 224X, I observed the North Polar Cap, and at 320X, I could see the clouds on the western limb -identical to your photo.

Aubrey, what telescope do you observe with? It must be pretty special to see that kind of detail - you're very fortunate. But don't tell anyhone where you live - you'll have a queue outside your door. Me at the front of it :-)

Thank you Dave, for showing interest. I own a 6.2" apochromatic refractor made by Williams Optics. I consider it a gift from God and I love using it every time. Regularly when I bring it back into the house, I say "another historic night". I hope to use it this coming weekend to observe the Moon, Venus and Jupiter once more.

That is a serious piece of finely honed glass and it must be a true joy to use. So where do you live? ;-)

Ranelagh, south Dublin, Dave. I hope to be at the Martello Tower, Sandymount, this coming Sunday 25th March to observe 3 day old crescent Moon, Venus and Jupiter. I will put up a bulletin about that on this website.
