I think that's a great start Martin. The Horsehead is a difficult object, especially for an unmodded DSLR, but you captured it, and the Flame Nebula and NGC 2023. Longer exposure and perfect focus will give even better results.
Thanks for suggesting that we go out last night, the seeing was poor, but it was a beautiful night under the dark sky. The excitement of seeing the Horsehead even in your first 2 min exposures was great.
We had a visit from a Guard (I wonder if somebody reports that cars have gone down to the amenity area?), who stayed for a brief chat and took a look through the scope. He confirmed that the body of the missing man who was murdered was found just short distance into the woods, but reckoned that the area was perfectly safe to visit at night.

I like the shot, its a fair representation of how you see it visually in a much larger scope.

Thanks guys.Really appreciate it.
Next time i will prob try and use lower iso as this was taken at 1600 and increase exposure time.Still its a great target to image.

Not bad for a first attempt buddy
I would highly recommend a Bhanitov mask, I use both of mine religiously and as a tip, if you focus on one object, and then move to another object, always make sure it's still focused
With this target, you are going to need longer subs, typically no less than 5 min with an Unmodded DSLR, I have one with my 40D "Unmodified" here:

This was after 9x10min @ ISO 800
Glad to see you using BYEOS, makes life so much easier, can't wait for him to release BackyardCCD
