Thanks for suggesting that we go out last night, the seeing was poor, but it was a beautiful night under the dark sky. The excitement of seeing the Horsehead even in your first 2 min exposures was great.
We had a visit from a Guard (I wonder if somebody reports that cars have gone down to the amenity area?), who stayed for a brief chat and took a look through the scope. He confirmed that the body of the missing man who was murdered was found just short distance into the woods, but reckoned that the area was perfectly safe to visit at night.

I was visited by a Guard when I was in the car park of Kilcrae Friary in Cork, I explained what I was doing and that I used to go down to Rocky Bay, Rocky Bay was so Iscolated, you would see the occasional car go past, but the iscolation makes you start hearing things, he informed me that Rocky Bay is apparently Haunted......I never go there any more....lol

Mike, did you use the new scope?
Speaking of the Guards, the last night we were down in Trooperstown I was pulled over by a Garda car, they took one look at my honest face and let me go.

It was the first opportunity to try out the C11 under dark skies. I'm still getting used to the change from the 200mm Newt, and I will write report once I've had a chance to put it through its paces properly. So far, so good though, the faint fuzzies are noticeably less faint and fuzzy with the larger aperture.
