Doesnt it sit over the equator thus making it both a northern and southern constellation?
Think i saw that on tv once. Although all my books say it is a southern skies constellation.

Scorpio is pretty poor from this latitude even at its best - I got a much better view when I was in Turkey for the Eclipse in 2006 - here's a shot...

This is as good as it gets from Ireland, as it is quite southern in declination, in this shot it is at bottom right, taken this summer...

If Orion is a winter constellation here and seeing its nubula is a fantatsic sight to see, in the summer what would be the main object in the sky to be looking for?

The constellations of Cyguns and Lyra are my two favourites, they provide a wealth of fantastic objects, the Ring Nebula, North America Nebula, the Double Double, Albireo, M29, M56, and of course the Milky Way. From a dark site the Milky Way is stunning, far better than winter, unfortunately the nights are so short.
