Generally Frank, you make a request to the Site Admin, and they will remove/delete your account. Or, in other cases, very dormant accounts would also be deleted in the same fashion, if the user base was huge.
Thinking of leaving us??

What do you mean by "un-register?"
You can turn off recieving emails in the User Control Panel ( www.irishastronomy.org/community/userCP/index.php ) and the phpBB Profile page ( www.irishastronomy.org/boards/profile.php?mode=editprofile )

The site contents are on the Internet. Bad Idea!
The site needs to be Google'd but internally only!!!!
"un-register" - nice for "leave".

I'm now totally lost?????
"The Home of Irish Astronomy on the Web" - that's our tag line .... says it all really, why would we want not want to be on the web?
Do you think that the fact that what you say here can actually be read makes it a bad place? :
As I see it it's exactly the availability and searchability of this place that gives it it's power. We get most of our members from people who do a search for something and google points them to a very useful post here and they say "hey, these guys know some useful stuff and are happy to share it to help out, I think I'll get involved".
What's the point in answering someone's questions in a forum that is purly private?
To leave you just .... leave .... you stop posting or taking part, simple as that.
