How do you "unregister" from the site.

I think it makes sense to have an opt out / close account policy.


And the process is (apparently) to ask the webmaster to delete your account (which Bart is looking after with Frank offline). The software itself doesnt provide it which is a pity, but there is no legal requirement for it to have to either, asking the web team is perfectly acceptable.

The only personal data we keep is what you put in to register, ie an email address, and password. That is the only extent to which we are a data controller. We are not required to register, though obviously we do have to follow the data protection rules. Anything that people post or put in signatures etc. is outside of that remit and can be considered entered into the public domain.

No harassment was intended, this is a request which just hasnt happened before, so the powers that be need to figure out exactly what to do.

I guess we will never know why having a public bulletin board be public is a "bad idea" .... oh well
