Tonight and tomorrow night there are two lunar occultations of bright stars, 130 Tauri, 5.5 mag. tonight at 20.01 and 26 Geminorum, 5.2 mag. tomorrow at 19.01. Tomorrow night's occultation might be a little more difficult as it will occur in twilight.

Doing my prep for April's guide I read there is a challenging daytime lunar occultation of Venus on the morning of April 6. The Northern limit of visibility is a approximate "line" between Galway in the West and Newry in the East. The moon will be 1 day from new and the timings for the event are approx between 08:30-09:00 ST.

Just watched it wink out, magical effect.
Can you see the headlights on the moon? The Alpine Valley is pointing to them.

Yep! it was occulted by the Moon at 19.01.

My thanks to Paul for highlighting it and to James O'Connor from Orbit magazine.
