Hi,
Just wondering where you will be on 21st August for the TSE ? I know a number of IAS members will be in Wyoming and Oregon.
Sara and myself will be based in eastern Wyoming.

Myself and Denise are flying into Denver and staying south of the eclipse path. We will drive into the eclipse path early in the morning. Glendo State Park looks ok and Guernsey State Park even better, albeit limited parking. Of course, if weather is iffy, we'll be mobile. Anywhere on the side of the road will do...
Michael.

Good luck to all heading to the States. All being well, I will be down in Kerry at the Skellig Star Party. A small partial eclipse is visible from Ireland.

Valerie and I are travelling with an English astronomy firm called Astro Trails.
At present, they are recommending us to travel to the Grand Teton National Park west of the town of Riverton in western Wyoming. Riverton has a population of only 10,600 people. It is the most populated town in whole of Wyoming.
45 days to go to the eclipse!
This will be my 10th Total Solar Eclipse and Valerie's 8th.
Clear skies for August 21.
Aubrey.

Hi everyone,
Hope all your plans are coming together nicely for August 21st total solar eclipse.
To start the countdown, I'm inviting everyone meet in Fitzgerald's Bar at O'Connell Bridge (Dublin) on Saturday, July 22nd from 6pm. It's a great spot, doesn't get over busy, and serves food up to 10pm. I picked that time because it accommodates anyone who wants to come along early and leave early.
Let me know if you can make it and I can contact Fitzgeralds to reserve a spot at the back of the pub.
The get-together is to meet fellow eclipse chasers, have a chat, and discuss any plans.
More details about Fitzgeralds at www.fitzgeraldsbar.ie/
A great series of pages on the eclipse at astroadventures.net/2017/USA/eclipse1.html (plus there's a link in the "More Info" box to a page on Eclipse Phenomena which describes what to look for). I wasn't able to view the pages on my tablet device but they open up fine on the laptop.
Good luck with your trip and clear skies on August 21st if you can't make to our pre-eclipse gathering. Keep us posted about your adventures in the shadow of the Moon once you get back.

Hi all,
One month to go to the eclipse!
I rang Fitzgeralds this morning and they have reserved a couple of tables for us right at the back of the pub for tomorrow night. When walking through, have a look at the wonderful barometer on the wall on the left about half-way along before you go up the couple of steps. I don't think it works but here's hoping it reads fair weather - or sunny even - on August 21st!
See you tomorrow any time after 6pm,
John
