Where will you be on 21st August 2017 ?

Hi John,
Anybody travelling to Oregon?
I will be renting an RV in San Francisco on the 15th and plan to settle in Madras from the 18th.
Weather there quite dry, high probability of clear skies, it's nearly time to start looking at the long range forecasts! My first eclipse and I will try to photograph with the help of Solar Eclipse Maestro.

Hi Conal,

I'll be in Madras also, arriving there on the 19th. There's a few more from Dublin heading there too as are about 40 from Cork Astronomy Club. The Cork group are taking a coach from Portland about 2am on the morning of the eclipse. I'll be in Madras from the 19th.

I get into San Francisco on the 12th as I've a sister there. Then flying to Portland on the 18th with my nephew. We are going to the Wings & Waves water park for a day, staying in McMenville overnight before driving to Madras. Lots of discussions in the Eclipse forum on cloudynights.com about the numbers expected in Oregon - certainly is a lot of interest in the event.

Am now driving early am from Portland on the 19th due to having some extra passengers.

7 days to go -and I have just started to pack.
Lots of eclipse tee shirts are in the luggage;
eclipse glasses, binoculars + tripod.
It is getting rather exciting, isn't it?:woohoo:
We fly on Thursday.

Bon voyage Aubrey, clear skies to you and all. We are apparently due a settled spell in Ireland next week so might catch a glimpse of the .12 mag partial from here, although just 5° above the horizon. Not sure which online facility I'll follow, but looking forward to your reports.
