Thanks Michael.
Lovely torquise clear skies. Except for a band on the horizon blocking McNaught.

Hi
I have spent the last two weeks trying un sucessfully to get a glimpse of this bright comet, even after reading one of the previous posts where ye said seeing would be difficult this evening i thought i should give one last try if the weather allowed. But with this morning so bad i thought not. It did finally clear, but as with the above post i did have a band of cloud on the horizon just as a rain cloud cleared overhead. I was just about to turn around and go home when gave a scan along the horizon through binoculars when to my suprise there it was, about 2 degrees above the horizon, i would say mag -3, took a photo aswell, but was so windy from in-car. So sometimes persintence can finally pay off and Goodbye comet Mc Naught.

Amazing images of this comet continue to grow see the green flash image and comet at
www.spaceweather.com/comets/gallery_mcnaught_page8.htm
Also how big was this comet, I mean Hale Bopp was very large how come we did not see this coming sooner. Mr DM must be very happy to be the first person in Ireland and possilly the UK to have seen the brightest comet in 30 years.

I tried repeatedly today to catch it during daylight without success. I guess it was too hazy.
