Right, well, the weather stayed OK for a while...
here is the first one I took...

I could just about see Haydes but I had to stroll 5min down the road to
get it all in frame....Murphys Law, by the time I got there it had clouded out....
Arrrah!
Anyway...

There ye go.
Moon (earthshine illuminated , Venus and the Magnificent 7.)

My Dad and I sat out on the front step of the house this evening
waiting to see who'd be the first to see venus...
well the crescent moon was a dead giveaway but..then ...
out strolled my ma and went ''What's that star there called?''
...
yeah...

Frank,

 Well done, well balanced and the only thing missing is atmosphere detail in Venus  . Thats all I can say.

Absolutely stunning to watch last night. I nearly crashed the car into workaround 11pm because the view infront of me was stunning (heading into Tullamore on the Portarlington road anyone? 4.5 miles of dead straight smooth road, with the conjunction right in front of you. Damn those road rules about watching where you're going!!)

The amount of Earthshine visible was really amazing. Even so late at night. I wish I wasn't working last night to have enjoyed it more.

:D

By the way, did anyone spotany Lyrids while they were out observing?

Here is a shot of Venus from last night also.

1min AVI Taken usingan ETX-125,
Philips webcam with IR cut filter,
2x Barlow,
Processed in Registax.

Yeah Seanie,
The earthshine was very noticable, more so before dark.
I have a few earlier shots from when I was setting up and I got Haydes in
as well but its very faint.

No Lyrids by the way.
