I did the same last night.
I guess it's cool to get back to basis once and a while.
Funny thing, I thought I could make out way more detail when it was on the horizon as opposed to an hour or so later.
Anything to do with the atmosphere filtering the light?

Brightness I reckon. When it gets higher, the sky is also darker.
