Moon & Pleiades March 12th was created by Keith g
Hi All, I've just been outside watching the Moon at 32% sunlit phase skirt over the Pleiades M45 in binoculars. It's a fine sight, although I did try to replicate the scene by taking a long shot to expose the Pleiades, and a short exposure to show detail on the Moon's surface, it did not work out as the sunlit side was just too bright.
However, here is my attempt showing both.
Canon 400D, 300mm lens at f5.6, ISO 100, 5 seconds exposure time.
Keith..

Funny you should post that, I was walking home from Tesco tonight with some beer and I looked up and said wow quite loud, the moon was right on top of the pleiades, wished I had some sort of imaging equipment but alas I'm not at home.

Lovely shot there Keith. Crop it to show just the moon and pleiades and you've got a keeper.
