WOW...............the background (sky) looks like it has been added to the image of the foreground.

If it is (as you say it is) a single shot...........................

I have NEVER seen skies that dark.

Fantastic image and amazing to think that people way back 5000 yrs ago had such a profound understanding of the skies............but they had to because the skies were their calendar.

They had to know when it was the right time to sow crops etc.

Newgrange though goes beyond that.

It's a burial chamber...................so what is the significance of the sun shining directly down it once a year?

I guess we will never know exactly why such places as New Grange and Stone Henge were built.

Lovely pic dogstar. It definitely captures the "wow" factor of the night sky and adds to the mysterious image of Brú na Bóinne.

It's now my desktop image, if that's OK

Part of the enjoyment i get out of taking these images
is knowing other's get enjoyment from them also,so
