For any radio astronomy enthusiasts out there, an amateur astronomer in New Mexico caught a Perseid with a "very energetic (radio) sound". It is featured on

Was out for a quick look last night at about 1am BST before going to bed and saw 5 perseids in about 7 minutes. All were very fast. I was in between two houses in the estate and could only see about 30% of the sky. LM was about 4.7 and milkyway was easily visible despite street lights.

Hi Keith,I hope it works out for some of us at least, the weather is going to be quite poor it seems

PS. Here is my meagre result from early this morning:

.... hehehe, having failed equally miserably in the past with meteor showers, I have learned to pursue a double target so as to have something at the end of the session.

Definition of Irony (relating to the Perseids)
Maximum on Tuesday August 12th. Evening time, and it is VERY clear. Watch the Moon rise, the clouds disappear, the stars get bright, and Jupiter ruling brightly.
Leave for work at 9:30pm, arrive at 9:45. Appears to be even less clouds now. Indoors between 10pm and midnight, looking forward to observing some Perseids when I finish at midnight. Finally, after 3 years totally clouded out...
I come out at midnight, and it is completely clouded out. Can't even see the light of the Moon.
