Dave,Oh I don't beleive this!!!
On April 14th I planned a S/N search. I was all set up targets chosen ready to go and it clouded in. I just took a look at my target list from the observatory script.

NGC 4088
Oh well it was the 74th object in the list so I might not have gotten to it anyway!!

PS. The discovery team is in Italy and a couple (?) of hours ahead of you. I suspect they would have beaten you to it anyway strictly only due to the time zone difference.
How about moving to Greece so as to gain an hour on the Italians?

Theres a very good reason why the Japanese and Australians bag so many of these:laugh:

I managed to get a shot of NGC 4088 last night. Stack of 5 x 2 minute frames. Unprocessed

I also managed to get a shot of it through very hazy sky. Conditions were not the Mae West. It did however give me the chance to test the bahtinov mask and give first light to a new Astronomik EOS CLS filter. The shot below is about 9.5mins total at ISO1600, EOS350D and C8N-GT. NGC4085 is also in there. Lots of trailing as the mount is not up to much.
