I'm in the process of trying to find out more details on the exact location.
Hopefully the sea breeze will clear the air some bit.

Hey you, I am impressed with your fine recollection!
Yes, this time I will be wearing my cosmologist hat ...
Those eBay degrees come in quite handy.
Anthony.
Cosmologist...yea right!
Can't wait for the next one through North Korea.
It's about time I put my phd in rocket engineering to good use...

I know there is a small island just off the mainland and which is being prepared for the eclipse. There is a bridge connecting the mainland with the island and there is talk about the benefit of being near water but at the same time the bottle-neck which would be created if everyone were to rush to clearer skies in the event there is a last minute weather issue. The eclipse site is by the sea somewhere south of Shanghai.

Unless of course it is blowing the wrong way.Hopefully the sea breeze will clear the air some bit.
Anyway, with all eclipses, the weather is a crapshoot ... let's hope things work out well.
Anthony.

Speaking of the weather, I just came across this:

Some interesting data there.
Michael.
The best one weather data for the eclipse (along with a situation room for E-Day and the days leading up to it) can be found here: home.cc.umanitoba.ca/~jander/tot2009/tse09intro.htm
Anthony, you might be thinking of me when you talk about the guy with the 400mm having to put down a big deposit and get my travel company involved. It was actually a 600mm but I'm hoping not to have to go through that again...
