Faint auroral band, though colour was visible to me - the faintest ones appear like white fog. From Ballygalley, Co Antrim just before midnight. Lumix G2 14mm (28mm equiv), 30sec f3.5 ISO800

Unfortunately here it's cloudy. Did anybody catch the meteor outburst also?

and the Kp index is back up at 6 again, storm level, that's aurora,
damn you daytime, Earth's tilt and so on.... !

Hi all, there was a red alert issued by aurorawatch uk at 1.30am this morning, did any of you stay up that late to see anything?
Good shots by the way, considering it was more or less a surprise
Dave, my set up was very simple, tripod, Canon 40D with a 24mm lens at f2.8, with 30 seconds exposure
