Hi Folks

I have mentioned this before about using the IFAS site to store and swop presentations for our club talks.

This never really got off the ground, so how about we have a section / page where members can simply list their talks and if anyone is interested in getting their hands on a talk they simply email the owner to request the talk.

Any thoughts?

Good to see you down at Birr. Many thanks for the Hubble DVDs and I've passed them on to Deirdre plus mentioned to Michael Murphy that I have a copy for him.

That is a great idea about swapping talks, etc. Because of picture copyright we would just have to maybe indicate in the text of the presentations where people can get the images. I'd be reluctant to upload a full Ms-Powerpoint show on the web that might have copyrighted pictures embedded.

not so much of a problem if only a low res/flash presentation is uploaded

eg. the light pollution talk I gave to SDAS last year is at www.ilpac.eu/content/view/29/25/

john, i was thinking of just uploading a list of talks and if someone wants one they can get the owner to email it so there are no talks hosted online.

Maybe I should go ahead and collect a list of talks.

I'm not sure about uploading Powerpoint talks, Most of mine are literally hundred of megabytes in size due to the massive image content.

If we used an updated speaker list, why not just ask people from that list to come down to yourselves in Kerry. We find that a speaker from another club is alot more interesting then seeing the same auld lads up in front of the club each month.
