Secondly, when I write a PowerPoint, it contains only the bits I want to show on screen. The rest is in my head.

This is why I don't see this idea working. I could give out all my power points and they would be useless to anyone else.

Trevor,
Have you considered using Skype for your lectures?

Now that's an interesting idea. You send down the slides in advance, they are projected for the audience and the speaker speaks over skype. That really could work. It just means you'd need broadband in your venue.

Exactly.
As the lads hold their meetings in the IT in Tralee, I presume they can get a decent internet connection. This could open up whole new possibilities in terms of speakers, national and international.

Great idea.
Do any speakers have recordings of their presentations, on audio or MP3?
These could be used in conjunction with the Powerpoints to present lectures, either directly in that format or in assisting a speaker to essentially deliver their lecture for them after some preparation.
We'd certainly be interested in getting speakers up, and we've welcomed several in the recent past.
It's a long way up North, but you'll get a welcome for sure.
