You saw what happened when the US went to the Moon.
After a while people started yawning and only for Apollo 13 was a
near tragedy the networks dident even broadcast it!

Sending a human to Mars right now is a total waste of money
and thats what it all boils down to. MULA.

I'd much prefer to see the bucks spent on a Moon base.

Humans on Mars will happen....

But probably not in my lifetime.

Hey frank!

Would you think the possibilty of finding fossils maybe of live on mars would be more intresting....maybe theres a whole load of things buried who knows over the billions of years!!

i think a moon base would be for military purposes/science research and not for us joes!!

Tony

What would heavily clothed humans do on Mars that even today's robots cannot do better?
This is about "Great Power Posturing".
Anyway.America will ditch Space Exploration soon to build collossal solar power plants in the Texas/Nevada region.
Solar collectors one and a quarter times the size of Ireland which will wean the USA off oil permanently are already costed and on the drawing board.
The effort and cost will be as great as WW2 to America, but they will do it by 2050.
Watch this "space"!
