Eric,
we'll just have to take your word for it that what you have there is indeed a part of Orioni! :p Still, experimentation, and perseverence, are the key to successful astrophotography, so you could be onto a winner.

Disable the autofocus feature for a while. Use the eyeball and the scopes own focuser to try and take a few shots...

Or how about turning off the autofocus, then focus the camera to infinity and leave it at that, is there some sort of manual setting on the camera???

If you thought the steady-pix was expensive, you're just going to love the DSI price ,
The DSI requires a pc/laptop to run, just keep that in mind

Erik,
I saw what I think is your camera on the net after a search as I have tried with my camera of a similar design what you have been atempting. To be honest, you're not going to achieve much at all.
The only thing I can suggest to you is to work out a method of fixing the camera to your eyepiece like using masking tape (leaves no resdue when peeled off). Turn off the autofocus feature, and then start snapping. Problem is, you're going to obviously do this each time you want to take a picture with a new eyepiece - a real pain in the you-know-what.
A probem you are going to find is that when you do take a picture, this camera, which probably has a poor adaptation to dark surroundings, is going to leave its shutter open longer than you would want - resulting in blurry, trailed images, particularly if you're just holding it to the eyepiece!

This is my methode for fixing the camera, but its off center of the eyepiece, but i can fix that with some adjustment.

About autofocus, i havent found any way of turning it off :(

So, new camera + equip compared to DSI, the DSI isnt that expensive.

Ive got a computer (p3 900mhz) just about 5 meters from were i stand...
