Images in Signatures - we need your opinion

We (the Web Team) seem to be stuck as to whether or not to allow images or not, as it is a move that the committee as a whole will have to vote on once brought forward, but even some personal preferrences are clashing against each other. Without saying anymore on the preferrences themselves, it was suggested to see what the general user population (of these boards) thought about having images in signatures.
Lets just sort it out the usual way. If Seanie proposes or has X then X is outlawed Seanie has a pic in his sig, therefore all images in sigs should be banned

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time. . . .

makes it
a. easier to get a mental image of the people on these boards, and
b. i gives people a bit of artistic freedom to create a profile.
so yeah, let it off...
the only thing I'd say is,
sometimes really flash-ie sigs make it hard to read a page.
So maybe its ok to have 'active' avitars but static sigs?
Anyone?....

It is no different to the limitations in place regarding avatars, usernames, banned words, and so on.
Any chance of a list of those "banned" words - or are they verboten - how can we know whats forbidden unless we can check the list? This is the type of red tape, "jobs worth", world we enter into by going down this road. Catch22 how are you?
I reckon it should be left up to the mods. I've had a wrist slap or two for anti-social verbiage - fair enough - (maybe if I had a list of 'mots non salut' then I could have moderated myself), however, who wants to check a list which can't be disseminated because it's slightly blue (it might be corrupting and lead to "ideas" - may your god forbid).
Anyway - I say leave it to the mods to decide - they haven't done a bad job up to now!
