Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Hi all
There are probably thousands of songs with the words moon or sun in the title, are there any with asteroid, or meteor or Quaoar in the title?

Diverging off topic just a tad... but I wonder if the group Klaatu took their name from the film "The Day the Earth Stood Still"? I forget the details (it came out in the 50s!) but in that film, an enormous metal android accidently gets kicked into "Must-Destroy-All-Earthlings..." mode and can only be shut down by giving it the verbal command "Klaatu berada nictu." In the best hollywood style of the time, the dishy looking chick/heroine ends up passing out in terror and collapsing into the arms of the evil (now subdued) robot and being carried into the deep recesses of its flying saucer... King-Kong style! Freud would have had a field day with that kind of imagery - "Mine Gott, It's so big und hard - no vunder you passed out, madam!"
Man that was a scary movie!

What a great sideline to a dull day
“Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft†was a song originally performed by a band called “Klaatu†in 1976 and it is still the best version by a long shot in my opinion.

I remember a few old ones from different rock groups. Some of them suitable while observing at the telescope; others would drive you out of your observatory.
Hawkwind - In Search of Space (Album)
Steve Hillage - Light in the Sky
YES - Eclipse
Brian Eno - Green Planet (Album) & Apollo (Album)
Jimmy Hendrix - 3rd Stone from the Sun
Pink Floyd - Set the controls for the heart of the Sun
Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky
New Musik - The Planet doesn't mind
