We seem to be bucking the trend. A clear night (almost) last night and another tonight - in the same week as two new scopes - surely not.

The past 2 nights have been good, but does anyone else notice how hazy the air is?

Yes, I have. But then I live in Foggy Bottom, surrounded by bog, fen and the Curragh.

I'm just surrounded by bog. But I have noticed that even one of my observing sites outside of Tullamore being very hazy Saturday and last night.

Last night I spent three hours on Slooh . I made up my mind long ago that $99 a year was as much as I wanted to pay for access to specialist astro-imaging equipment because my hobbies (astronomy, photography) were already costing me enough. Best of all the current Slooh observatory is great for a quick fix when we're clouded over here in Ireland and when they finish the observatories in Australia and Chile I'll be able to observe stuff that I would never see from home and the service will be available 24 hours a day. That'll take care of some wet weekends.

There was a meteor track in one of my shots last night :)

Hey John, I'm really interested in this - how do you find Slooh as a way of going about things?

Any chance you could post some sample images?
