:D
Fair play.
If there are 1000's of people dumb enough to waste there money
on text alerts for ISS passes then thats their problem.

They'd be better off walking into an internet cafe
and printing out the following weeks passes from Heavens Above and sticking it in their back pocket,
at least then it wouldn't cost them a euro every day to take it out and look at it.

I guess they could still donate a few bob to whomever they wanted to promote interest in astronomy and all that.

Anyway, this is all trite.
Whatever a shop charges for its services is it's own business,
as is weather they put links to free prediction sites on their websites or not.

I am totally impressed to see he
he is charging only one euro a day to receive daily predictions of ISS and Shuttle!

Capitalism is about competition.
I might try and undercut him by charging JUST 95c a day!

that David Moore wrote: 1. ISS's last pass was Feb 17. We are not sending out any TEXTs until the next set of passes in late March.

Um, late March? Try March 3rd (possibility), March 4th for definite, early morning viewings.

Is that right Seanie?

Presumably the text service will get it right. Surely Heavens-above will...

AI don't publisise the early morning passes for some reason. They don't have the times on their hotline (not that I've called it, I just know), they don't mention them in their e-mails they send out to their mailing list and don't make reference to them in their magazine - they just print the range of dates on which the evening passes occur.

I don't know what the reason for this is, but it's just always been that way.

Probably makes more sense to list the evening passes as more people are up and about to go and look for the ISS, but it makes even more sense again to let people know about all the passes.

But maybe people wouldn't appraciate getting texts at 4am to say the ISS will be passing over in an hour - I dunno!

It's worse than that, it's physics Jim!
