Dave very interesting.
I have followed this debate with interest and I read every word of the last post and agree with most.
You've put in print what I want to say but have not the writing skills.
Thanks
Conor
btw is that the record for the longest post here?

Well, thats my LX90 put together, so straight forward! I wish flat-pack furniture was as easy I wouldn't be so grey. My first viewing session? Well, the raindrops look terific, and that cloudbase is so stunning through the scope, Hmmm! I think I will load the software for the DSI and spend my time studying that until the weather clears up in July and it's too light to stargaze. Is this why I bought my firsty scope? Anyway, good idea Dave, I would like to swap tips with you on the DSI. I assume the LPI which came with the scope is for taking images as well, but of planets and moon? Gordon, would you have a library listing number for that book so i ould get my local shop to order it?
Thanks everyone for being supportive.
Bill H.

Anthony from Greece - but a month after he sent it, there was an article about the Flares by DM himself.

Didn't someone else here write an article or iridium flares for them that they never replied to also?
Cheers,
~Al

Yes, ...... Of course he did!
What I think the defenders of A&S / AI seem to forget is that alot of the complaints here are from payed up members / subscribers of AI. Shouldn't DM be listening to their opinions?? It is their club too!
No defenders of the scope prices?.......

Folks, thanks for the supportive comments. I thought it was about time I got that little gripe off my chest, especially after reading recent posts and holding back on joining in the melee.
Gorson - I really hope, genuinely, that you take none of what I say personally, other than presenting an alternate view to your own.
As I said in my piece, and others on this board have said, there is no question of your own personal ability to write clearly, intelligently and concisely. I was serious about the Astronomy Now comment - I have read all the US and UK mags for a couple of years now. You write as well as any of the contributors to those magazines. I shall certainly try and get a copy of your book - whatever it is about!
I know that you have some ties to A&S and it can't be easy coming on this board listeneing to us lot give out. Fair play to you for at least steering what must be a difficult path and staying here.
Anyway, onto other matters.
Does anyone know if Mr. David Moore reads these posts? If you are reading these posts Mr. Moore, I would be obliged if you would send me a private message perhaps with your response to my previous post?
Cheers
Dave
