Thanks Keith,
The scope cost 180E, the camera cost a bit more

Seanie, heres an image I posted here before of Saturn through the ETX70 using the toucam pro webcam, it pretty well represents what you can see through this scope.

Thanks Dave,
I took the Orion one already because it was taken with a small scope - to give people an idea what they can see even in a small scope. I like the colour details in it!

Your picture of Saturn is an excellent representation of one would see Saturn as, when seen through the ETX-70 and Skylux.

Cheers!

Dave,
That's a fantastic image!! You must be very happy with it.

Just one query - all the brighter stars are surrounded by a blue halo. If the stars were actually blue, why isn't the entire glow blue?
The reason I ask is that my recent imaging of Orion showed up something similar. I'm confused as to what's causing it - are the stars indeed blue or is something else happening; something in the settings in the camera we need to consider adjusting?

Michael,
I had put it down to chromatic abberation in the etx70, but if you're seeing it also in your scope which doesnt have this, then it must have something to do with the camera, maybe when you burn out an object, you get this effect. the image straight off the camera didnt have it so pronounced.
This is worth further invrestigating.

Seanie, just keep in mind that you wont see any of the nebula colour visually in the scope, the full shape was there just fainter then the photo portrays, remember this is a fast widefiueld scope, you probabily wouldnt get the same effect in a slower scope.
