Some very sad news.

This is very sad news indeed. Colm was a true space enthusiast with an encyclopaedic knowledge. He was a real character and a good friend when I worked with him in the past - always good for some banter and with a mischievous mind! He will be sorely missed. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family.

That's a tragic occurrence for his family, particularly when he'd so much of life lying ahead of him.

I never met Colm in person, but I have read some of his articles over the years from Astronomy & Space magazine. This is such a very sad loss to his family and friends.
