That's a pretty neat idea. I just hope you get the weather on the night.

I've got an Orion Intelliscope 12inch Dob and live just down the road in Bray (Well just down the road since the M50 was built ).
I used to live in Firhouse till the age of 12. Course it was all fields back then!!
I'll get back to you in a day or two to let you know whether I can make it or not.
It should be funny as I am a beginner myself and this is my first scope.
I can just imagine the scene.
"Hey mister, whats that thing in the sky over there?"
"Don't ask me kid, you probably know as much as I do!"

looks like great fun. I recognise Michael Murphy in the image there, who else brought along their scopes?
Yep thats Michael displaying his 11 inches in Public. Val Dunne brought his 8" SCT, Deirdre Kelleghan her 8" Dob, and my humble 4" refractor.
This year we should have a few more - anyone with a big dob?

We will probably get a very good crowd at this after Dee got it plugged on the Newstalk FM Culture Shock program.
Also I have dropped in leaflets to over 100 houses today and plan on doing another drop tomorrow.
Please weather gods be kind.

I hope you have enough scopes to go around on the night. I'd bring mine but let's face it if you could have a hot dog or a hot dog with everything on top.................which would you pick?
LOL.
If i make it...i'll bring my bins cuz M42 does look pretty good in them.
(even if i do say so myself).
