There are plenty of resources on the 100 Hours Website see link above.

Each club under IFAS has 160 euro to spend on the event so what are you doing
about it ??? Let us know . Dave Mc Donald has gone to a lot of bother to do IFAS
stickers for our telescopes for the event/events we will be doing together.
So get yourself some , use them , get involved.

TOGETHER is the main point , we the amateur astronomers in Ireland under the IFAS banner
intend to do some public service astronomy together in this global effort to share the
wonders of the night sky with the public.

So let me know the details of your events asap so I can register them for you and
we can make an effort to be part of this important cornerstone for IYA 2009.

Thanks

Hi here is the link to the list of events in Ireland so far for 100 Hours of Astronomy. Now not all events are in this list as the last few from DEISE are taking a bit of time to get here, All events and event details are on the world map pins.
www.100hoursofastronomy.org/component/eventlist/eventsmap

12 events on the pins with some pins indicating several small events.

Please check your details and let me know if anything is incorrect.

If your club is doing something between April 2nd and April 5th and is not registered please let me know asap so I can add it to the list. If anyone wants an IFAS sticker for their telescope let us know asap so we can sort you out with one.

Hi Deirdre, do you need more info from DAS as I thought you had all our details - so far, only the Saturn & Moon watch is listed (and the site says it's in Waterford whereas it's in Dungarvan). Let me know if you need anything else from us ok (ie: exhibits in Dung library, talk on Sat pm in the library and Solar System Walk on Sat morning).
Best Regards,
Bernie

Hi Bernie

All the DEISE information is on the World Map the pins hide each other until you zoom right in there. The listing has not caught up with the map as yet , the number of events on the Ireland flag has not caught up with the events yet either, there is a lot of information heading that way so some things are a bit slow. I also added some of Steves images so they will show up eventually.

I will go in an sort out the Saturn Moon Watch details now

Today and tonight are looking like the best of the 100 Hours weather wise. So if you can do something this may be your best chance to take part.

I am doing two talks for Travelers children this morning and will bring my PST along. Tonight we have a public night in Dunsink so we will show our guests the quarter moon , Saturn and some other lovelies. In between I am doing a talk on Galileo in the Central Library in Dublin.Michael O'Connell will do the public talk tonight in the observatory.

Tomorrow evening we are in Sandymount and Saturday evening in Glendalough weather permitting.

Solar observing for school children, teachers and librarians in Bluebell Dublin this morning , lovely large prom
on the SW limb at the time.

This is the e learning bus provided by Dublin City Libraries that was invaluable this morning.
I introduced the children to Virtual Moon Atlas, Stellarium, and What's Up for March as well as a little talk and some solar observing. More pics maybe tomorrow have to pack car for later now.

First 100 Hours event for me :-) 6 Eyes in the Skies discs were given to the bus for use during the year and Saturn Observation Campaign material was given to the kids and teachers.
