Following from a previous thread, myself and Dave McDonald have now finalised details of the IFAS Astrophotography Workshop.

11:30am - Topic: Telescopes - Speaker: Michael O'Connell

12:00noon - Topic: Cameras - Speaker: Dave McDonald

2:30pm - Topic: CCD imaging - Speaker: Carl O'Beirnes

TEA BREAK

3:30pm - Topic: Planetary Imaging - Speaker: Dave Gradwell

4:00pm - Topic: Solar Imaging - Speaker: Dave Gradwell
Weather permitting, Dave Gradwell will do live solar imaging.

4:30pm - Q&A

The afternoon sessions will include hands-on tutorial sessions so if you have laptops, if would be a good idea to bring them as we hope to go through examples of image processing.
Closer to the day, we will publish a list of image processing software that will be used so as to allow you to preload it on your laptop.
If you don't have a laotop, no worries - it will still be a very useful day.

Spaces are limited to 20 attendees.
Regsitration fee is €20 per person and payment is required via our paypal system - please do not send payments yet.
Payment cannot be taken at the venue.

The fee also includes a basic lunch (sambos, T/C, biscuits etc) on the day.

If you are interested in attending, please reply to this thread.
Once we have 20 names, we will then start the process of taking payment.

We would like to thank Hilary O'Donnell and all at DIAS for facilitating IFAS with the use of Dunsink Observatory for this event. Thanks!

If you have any queries, plese do not hesitate to ask.

Regards,

Michael & Dave Mc.

I've only just signed up for an IFAS account (having contacted SDAS recently), this being my first post! I would love to attend the course if there are any available places? I understand it's only fair the places go to long standing members where places are limited, but if you have a spot after long standing members sign up please let me know.

I've been doing a lot of online research into the hobby [in the hope of reducing the impact on my relationship/bank balance  ]. I have a dob at the moment, but plan to buy a Takahashi FSQ 106 astrograph (by no means cheap but nice for imaging both planets and DSOs).

And since this is my first post!!....
