Unfortunately, it would appear it didn't spread quick enough.
I remember reading on one website where someone claimed that a sum in excess of £100K is involved.

Yes - looks the damage was done many months ago.
An eye-opener for us all and a few salutory lessons when making those big purchases. For that reason, if anyone is considering buying a big purchase, then read the advice in the forums listed my Michael. Well worth it to protect yourself.
