Against all odds it cleared tonight at about 9pm and we got some Moon observing in. See
www.kerryastronomyclub.com/index.html
Then it clouded over again at 10 Did not see one of the thousand per hour meteors though

Well, I got to see 4 Draconids between 8.26 and 9.07pm but the sky was 90% cloud cover - just the tiniest clear patch directly overhead so was quite lucky to see anything.

Squat diddly all night here near Tullamore, what a bummer... What a waste of a night off and the story of the year in general, astronomically speaking.

Another Irish weather bashed Outreach event squashed
I think you are all great to have the intention of doing some public service astronomy.
Thanks to all who were on the verge of sharing the sky only to be clouded out on the night.
I was really upset to have to call off my event in Bray as the kids and parents in my little
club were going to take part together , would have been lovely for them.
However lets not give up on the idea that Ireland can give us a good sky for a public
event at some point.
Forever hopeful
