Well, it was dark.

I completely concur with Calibos -the wind chill was very difficult to live with. I loved seeing Castor in Dave's 10" Dobsonian. It was breathtakingly white. And what can I say about R Leporis? To me, it is my favourite carbon star, and I have seen 25 others. I reckon it was about magnitude +7.8. And what a joy it was to get a sighting of M79 for the 1st time.
I get the feeling though, I am not finished with Lepus just yet. Gamma Leporis is a beautiful double. And also there is a multiple star called h3780, or sometimes it is called NGC 2017. Maybe I can look for these on March 2nd at Sandymount.
Observing M45 and the 2 star clusters in Monoceros in Bob's 5" refractor was wonderful. This was another historic night for me.

Aubrey.
