Was that the solar viewing session? was it any good?? Did they have anything on show other than the 'white' solar filters?

Paul - I've heard so many positive reports about AI members (volunteers) and the folks (well, most of them...) who work for Astronomy and Space. Its great they sorted you out.
I think the event tomorrow will be swamped with people. If there was anyone here who is desperate to see Mars, I'd say Friday is the better bet to avoid queues. I'm going to try and make it along too and will bring a scope. So sure, I'll see you there!
Cheers
Dave

Anyone know if the voluntary contributions go towards petrol money for the scopers? I'd be OK with that notwithstanding that I'd never ask anyone for the petrol money for an event in Glendalough say. If it goes to the organisation, what is it spent on?

That's a pity, I must try and pop over one of the days and see the new shop!

Now that sounds like a plan.
Went up to the Lunar Eclipse event last year and it was a very enjoyable evening.
