Pretty cool - unknown object zoom past Orion was created by pj30something
I was observing around the area between Bellatrix (Orion) and Aldebaran with a 32mm EP at 7:30pm. Just sitting back taking in the views. All of a sudden a very bright white light sped across my FOV from bottom right to top left (so reverse that cuz my scope is a refractor). I was able to track it for about 4 seconds because i didnt have the screws on the axis' tightened. Then as suddenly as it appeared it dissapeared. It really was moving at some speed. Much faster then any sat i have seen.
I'd like to say it was a meteor but the fact that i tracked it for about 4 seconds suggests to me that it cant have been one.

Sorry i also forgot to mention:
I really like the way Mars and its moons look in the 32mm.
M42 just keeps getting better and better...............looks amazing in 15mm.
I also learned that you see more detail (shape etc) looking at M42 with averted vision.
P.S.~~sky is crystal clear but seeing is pretty bad. Everything is shimmering like mad.

I thought maybe ISS. I checked Satscape about 10 mins after i saw it and the ISS was over New England (USA) at that time heading eastwards towards the Atlantic. Well THAT'S how I read the program.

Musta been a Sat of one kind or another. I just couldnt believe the speed of it.It wasnt drifting nor was it hurtling through the sky. It looked like it was on a mission (if you know what i mean). Nice bright well defined point of light.
Musta been a Sat.
Anyways it was so cool just to see it appear in my FOV and be able to keep up with it for as long as i did. God bless the 32mm EP. I love it and the views it gives.
